About

Safe Drive Stay Alive performances began, in Surrey, in March 2005. Since then over 188,000 16 – 19 year olds, from Surrey schools, colleges and youth groups, have seen a performances at Dorking Halls.

Safe Drive Stay Alive is led by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, with support from Surrey Police and South East Coast Ambulance service.

Audience 2015

Evaluation

The programme has been robustly evaluated, both internally and externally. The most recent completed external evaluation was in 2015, conducted by Road Safety Analysis. The full report can be accessed here.

The programme is currently being evaluated via a ISRCTN registered clinical trial titled, “Pre-driver theatre and workshop education research for road safety in young drivers”. Results are expected later in 2022 and will be published on the RAC Foundation website.
